SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH ISSUED FOR STRATHROY
8/11/2017 1:47:19 PM

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Strathroy and Middlesex County for this afternoon (August 11). Conditions are ideal for the development of severe thunderstorms. These thunderstorms may be capable of strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Cloud cover is a limiting factor, but sunny breaks and warmer temperatures in the late afternoon could fuel a severe thunderstorm. Our area could see two centimetre-sized hail, strong wind up to 90 km/h and heavy rainfall to 50mm.

During the thunderstorm watch, you are asked to be prepared for the weather and take cover immediately if severe conditions come up. Driving can become hazardous during sudden downpours; reduce your speed and ensure that your lights are on. It's also a good idea to bring in any loose articles from outside that could potentially be damaged in a storm.
