MINISTRY SPEAKS TO AGREEMENT WITH PINERY BEING OPEN AGAIN 4/13/2018 7:42:46 AM
After about 2 or 3 weeks since the Pinery Provincial park was blocked by Protesters, The trailer blocking the entrance as we know is now gone and the Park is open. Ministry of Natural Resources Seniors Media Relations Spokesperson Jolanta Kowalsky says that an agreement has been reached with the protesters to keep the park open.
Kowalsky says that it may take a few months for historians and protesters to uncover the validity of their claims, but this agreement ensures that the park is open to Ontarian in the mean time. The agreement does allow for the protesters to return at will without blocking the entrance. Kowalsky says that if the status of the park changes, information will be posted on ontarioparks.com/park/pinery.
