
A Brooke-Alvinston man is in some hot water after an incident with Police on Sunday. OPP say at around 1am Sunday, they were on general patrol on Nauvoo Road in the Township of Brooke-Alvinston. While on patrol, OPP conducted a traffic stop for a highway traffic act infraction. While speaking with the driver, the officer formed the opinion that the driver had recently consumed an alcoholic beverage. At this time, a roadside screening device was administered. A reading of “fail” was determined. As a result, the driver was arrested and lawfully provided two additional samples of breath in excess of the legal limit. A 42-year-old from Brooke-Alvinston has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario at a later date.
