With the federal election just a few weeks away, and an all candidates meeting in Strathroy done as of Wednesday, the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Green Party is in disarray. Anthony Li is the official candidate locally but myFM has learned that the local party Executive Committee made up of 7 people do not support Li as the candidate on a vote of 5 to 2. Chairman of the Executive Stan Grizzle says the candidate wasn’t up front with them.
Grizzle says they then approached the Green Party of Canada and the response was that they were stuck with Li as the candidate. He says it’s just not appropriate that Li who is a student in Kingston lives 500 kms away from a riding he’s running to represent. Grizzle adds to potential Green Party voters, that he believes in the party’s mandate but he believes there’s problems at the top of the party but he says vote with your conscience.
