The Strathroy Scouts will once again be collecting Christmas trees in the area. Troop Scouter Ed Thuss said they started the tradition four years ago to raise money to send their scouts to the Canadian Jamboree out east and it went so well they’ve brought it back each year since, saying it helps them do some of their major camps. and that’s all thanks to the growing community support.
The scouts collect the trees and then bring them out to the Strathroy Transfer station. There’s a $5 per tree pickup fee and they ask you to remove all decorations and tinsel and leave them curbside. They’ll be out around Strathroy from 8:30 to 3:00 on Saturday. Email takemytreestrathroy@gmail.com with your address by today to have your house added to their stops.
