
A joint inquiry is scheduled to occur over the deaths of three inmates of the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre. During three separate incidents the inmates died of opiate toxicity from August 2015 to August 2017. 39-year-old Floyd Deleary, 27-year-old Justin Thompson, and 24-year-old Murray James Davis were the inmates. The inquest will examine the events surrounding their deaths. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths. It’s expected to last 12 days and the jury could hear from approximately 30 witnesses. The inquest will start on February 24th in London.
