The local pharmacy inside Strathroy’s Shoppers Drug Mart is taking part in a pilot project aimed at easing the preparation of trips for travelers. A new survey says only 23% of Canadians seek travel advice from healthcare professionals prior to a trip outside of the country. Pharmacist and Owner Drew Peddie says that figure should be hire and the pilot addresses that.
Strathroy is one of select locations that now has access to a virtual care technology that enables consultations with a physician and a pharmacist at the same time, allowing people to get their travel health needs addressed in a single visit. Peddie said so far the reviews are excellent and he doesn’t see why this won’t continue to be an option moving ahead.
