In addition to a track replacement program to be undertaken at the Sleepy Hollow Railroad at the Fairgrounds Recreation Complex in Strathroy, the vision of a new volunteer group is an expansion of the children’s train ride. Strathroy-Caradoc Director of Community Services, Rob Lilbourne, says the track itself is set to be upgraded with brand new tracks this spring. He says a partnership with the Strathroy Railroad Model Engineers could lead to extending the track in the complex.
Sleepy Hollow Railroad was previously located in Alexandra Park but moved to its present location due to flood plain concerns. There is no charge to ride the train, however donations are always welcome.
