At this point Lambton Shores has retained their Blue Flag designation for all their eligible properties. That being the marina and main beach in Grand Bend, as well as the Port Franks Marina. Mayor Bill Weber says they’ve surpassed a decade of holding the designation, which speaks to the community commitment.
The Blue Flag represents environmental compliance from maintaining the area and ensuring proper water quality, among other things. Weber says it’ll depend on if the province opens beaches up this summer or not on if they’ll keep that designation for 2020.
