The beaches in Elgin county opened this morning and with the temperatures expected to reach the high 20s today, Port Stanley in particular could prove a popular destination. Dr. Joyce Lock, Southwestern Public Health says if you are planning on visiting today or this coming weekend, social distancing is a must.
Central Elgin Mayor Sally Martyn says volunteer firefighters will serve as beach champions to encourage visitors to social distance and stay safe.
