If you were out and about Thursday around dinner time and heard what seemed like a lot of sirens heading out of Strathroy towards Mount Brydges, that’s because the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department was called to the area of Glendon Drive and Christina Road for a structure fire. Crews from Station 2 Mount Brydges and Station 3 Melbourne were assisted by Station 1 Strathroy. The fire initially started in the garage area and spread to the house. The garage was a total loss and damage was confined to the side and roof areas of the house. There were no injuries to the occupants, However one firefighter suffered from heat exhaustion but did not require hospitalization. The cause is being investigated and a damage loss is estimated to be approximately $150,000.
