Doug and Marion’s Bike Shop celebrated 30 years in business in June. Marion Smith told myFM there were some big plans in the works heading into the year as to how to celebrate, but of course, those went out the window. Nevertheless, the pandemic doesn’t take anything away from the milestone itself, which Smith says is a testament to the work achieved over the year.
Smith anticipates a celebration of sorts to be had next year, for 30 years. She says watching their children grow up, from being little and sleeping at the store when they were too sick to go to school, to them all now being ate least in their 30s with careers and kids of their own, really speaks to how long they’ve had the store.
