Lynn Boychuk is a local resident whose Parkview Drive property is adjacent to a stretch of Glengyle Drive, the road slated to undergo a significant reconstruction by Middlesex County.
They got a notice in the mail in late July that the work will require the removal of cedar trees which are between the edge of their properties and the road.
That’s a cause of concern for Boychuk and “about 10 to 12” other neighbours, she told myFM.
The stretch of trees being removed goes from the train tracks up to McEvoy Road on one side of the road. Boychuk says neighbours took to putting up “Save the Trees” signs on the edge of their properties.
Boychuk says they’ve contacted the county and the municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc to express their concerns and were told the tree removal is going ahead to accommodate the road work.
myFM spoke to Middlesex County’s head engineer about this project and the residents concerns. Tune in tomorrow morning and check back here for that conversation.
