Ontario will begin a provincewide lockdown on December 26th. It will remain in place for southern Ontario until at least January 23rd, but will lift for northern Ontario on January 9th. Mayor of Strathroy-Caradoc Joanne Vanderheyden says she understands the need to address rising hospitalizations.
Vanderheyden says she’s proud of how local residents have responded to this point and hopes we can hold on a little longer.
The measures mean all non-essential businesses must close, and essential businesses that remain open will have strict capacity limits in place.
