
An arrest during a local traffic stop leads to a Head Street North search warrant. Strathroy-Caradoc Police tell us a 32-year-old man is facing a number of charges after several firearms and more than $11,389 worth of drugs were seized Friday afternoon. Police conducted a traffic stop where a male passenger was arrested in relation to a firearms investigation. The following items were seized:
- 3.89 grams of methamphetamine, value $389
- 4 grams of crack cocaine, value $400
- 21.2 grams of fentanyl, value $10,600
- $3,605 in cash
- 2 Cellular phones
- Digital scale
- 2 expandable batons
- Throwing star
- Sawed off shotgun
- 25 rounds of ammunition
- 2 replica pistols
- Replica revolver
- Brass knuckles
- Butterfly knife
As a result of the investigation, the following charges have been laid against 32-year-old Shane Smith of Strathroy:
• Fail to comply with undertaking (x3)
• Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
• Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose (x3)
• Knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon (x2)
• Carrying concealed weapon (x2)
• Occupant of vehicle knowing there was prohibited or restricted weapon
• Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition (x3)
• Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm or ammunition
• Possession of a schedule 1 substance – cocaine
• Possession of a schedule 1 substance – fentanyl
• Possession of a schedule 1 substance – methamphetamine
Smith remains in custody pending an audio appearance in London court today (Jan 9th).
