It’s Paramedics Services week and this year’s theme is Paramedic as Educator – Citizen Ready and demonstrates the important role that paramedics play as educators to the public. Operation Superintendent with the Middlesex London Paramedic Service Paul Van Dyk says the role of EMS has evolved over time, especially in 2021.
Van Dyk says when paramedics have been heading out to calls they look quite different, wearing personal protective equipment to some calls. There’s a screening process which takes place over the phone from the dispatchers which helps decipher what, if any, appropriate PPE responders should wear.
