Strathroy-Caradoc’s new Fire Chief Brent Smith started his 2-week transition period Monday with outgoing Chief Brian George as he gets ready to fully take over the position. Chief Smith has been working in the industry for 28 years, having worked in London, and now coming to Strathroy-Caradoc from the Township of Malahide. Strathroy-Caradoc isn’t too new to him though, as he has worked with the department before.
As Strathroy-Caradoc continues to grow, Chief Smith says that this is something he’s excited by.
Coming the Strathroy-Caradoc from the Township of Malahide, Chief Smith says that Chief George has set him up well going forward.
Chief Smith says that he plans to continue to use the plans Chief George has created and put in place for the department as well as help take the department to the next level. He also plans on taking the transition period as a chance to learn more about the area, the municipality and its people.
