Step One of the Roadmap to Reopen has given day camps the green light to run this summer, something that Strathroy-Caradoc has been planning for all along. Numbers of enrollment right now are over 700 campers which is over the 590 campers who registered in 2019 which was not a pandemic year.
Paul Lattimore, Supervisor of Recreation, Programs and Community Liaison for Strathroy-Caradoc said that they have been planning camps like every other year, taking into account that restrictions will come into play, but they never stopped having hope that they could offer camps. Now with clear guidelines, Lattimore says they can finalize the planning process.
Lattimore says that the municipality will offer the same fun camps they always have, plus they are adding a new one in visual arts, in partnership with the Wright Family Foundation. Kids will have to wear a mask and they will be in smaller groups, but everyone can still expect to have a great time.
