A provincial debate was held Monday night at the Strathroy Portuguese Canadian Club hosted by the Strathroy and District Chamber of Commerce. Incumbent Conservative Monte McNaughton was there along with New Blue candidate David Barnwell, None of the Above Party candidate Dean Eve, NDP candidate Vanessa Benoit and the Green Party’s Colleen McCauley from the London West riding who stood in for Wanda Dickey. Liberal candidate Bruce Baker and Ontario Party candidate Aaron Istvan Vegh were absent. myFM talked with some of the attendees from Monday, you the voters about what the big issues for this election were for them.
The candidates took a few questions from the crowd in attendance, and overall, questions ranged from pandemic relief for small businesses, the rising cost of goods and services, how the parties will help our failing health care system, long-term care systems and the housing crisis.
