The Strathroy Hometown festival returns after two years away this weekend with the traditional Show ‘n Shine car show leading things out Friday night. Bryan Watson, President of the Strathroy-Caradoc Cruisers says the show has grown, and as a result they are actually expanding along Front Street.
As in previous years, Downtown streets will be closed to accommodate the hundreds of cars, arriving from the surrounding area to “Show and Shine” as well as to enjoy the hometown feel of Strathroy’s shops and services, and those streets will be shut down this Friday around 1pm.
This includes
– Front Street from Head Street west to Thomas Street. (Caradoc Street remains open and controlled by the traffic lights as usual.)
– Frank Street from Front Street to James Street.
– Centre Street from Frank Street to Caradoc Street.
– The lanes from Frank Street, beside Poags and beside Dance Factor, will also be closed as fire lanes and to accommodate entrance of larger vehicles and trailers.
These streets will be closed between 1:00 pm and 10:00 pm on June 10th. No residential or business vehicles will be allowed in or out of closed areas during these times. Please advise all family members, tenants or employees to make alternate parking arrangements. All of the closed streets are reserved for the exclusive use of the Strathroy Caradoc Cruisers Car Club.
There will be entry points for the festival at the variety store on Front St. And Caradoc St. As well as by the Shop on Sydenham and Shoppers Drug Mart.
