OPP tell us on June 27th, Lambton OPP engaged into an investigation on St. Clair Street in Watford. The subject of the investigation fled on foot prior to police arrival. Officers requested the OPP Canine Unit to respond to track the individual. The Canine Unit veteran ‘Blitz,’ an 11-year-old general service dog, arrived and quickly tracked the individual, covering over two kilometers in under 30 minutes. The individual was taken into custody by Emergency Response Team members who were accompanying the Canine Unit. A 36-year-old Watford resident has been charged with three counts of assault and was remanded in custody following a bail hearing. The name of the accused is being withheld at this time to protect the identity of the victim(s) involved.
