Lighting upgrades and new lighting is coming to a pair of sports fields at the Yorkview Complex. Strathroy-Caradoc Council this week approved Musco Sports Lighting to supply and install lighting and accessories for Strathroy United’s soccer stadium field and also the bantam baseball diamond next door for a value of $450,000. Town staff were able to work with the contractor to provide pricing for two projects that fall within budget and one big reason was the proximity of each field to each other. The ball diamond is currently unlit so it will receive new lighting whereas the soccer field currently has good lighting towers so just the light heads will be replaced. Director of Community Services Rob Lilbourne says the project will be done nearing the end of both sports season and there will be no user group disruptions.
