Lakefront cottage owners in Lambton Shores are having problems with people trespassing. Despite signs being up, some public beach goers seem to ignore them. Altercations than occur with the homeowners and sometimes police are even involved. Lambton Shores Mayor Bill Weber says the public needs to respect the land around them.
Weber says this is more of a Ministry problem, and that the Grand Bend Municipal beach and Ipperwash beach are open to the public. The Pinery Provincial Park also offers 10 km of public beach.
