Strathroy-Caradoc has a new Deputy Mayor coming into council. Deputy Mayor Elect Mike McGuire was able to avenge his 2018 loss for the same seat against the same opponent incumbent Brad Richards. McGuire held a reception Monday night at the Mercantile and says he was thrilled with thre results.
McGuire had a 1000 vote differential gain over the last four years. 6750 total votes were cast this year for Deputy Mayor, an increase of approximately 900 votes from 2018.
McGuire says one of the first things he plans on doing is getting to know the new council for Strathroy-Caradoc.
He also tells myFM that while he was campaigning, a lot of residents in Strathroy-Caradoc came forward with issues and he says he is going to do his best to tackle those issues.
McGuire says he had a lot of people reach out and help with his campaign which he is grateful for.
