Some good news when it comes to the affordable housing project in Mount Brydges on Adelaide Road in front of the Tri-Township arena. Earlier this year, Council directed the Caradoc Housing Corporation to pursue funding for the project which CMHC has committed to funding it along with funding partner First National. The Housing Corporation also applied for $2 million funding from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Green Municipal Fund. The exact amount of support coming from each of these sources is not yet established, but the Corporation Board and project team are assured that the full amount of the project will be funded. CAO Fred Tranquilli says work on the site is progressing well and on schedule. The 37-units are still on track to be available in October 2023.
