After 2 years away, the Strathroy Affiliate of Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is hosting their Let’s do Brunch for the Foundation this Sunday from 10am to 1:30pm at the Strathroy Royal Canadian Legion. Kevin Eagleson, President of the Strathroy Chapter talks about the disease.
Crohn’s and Colitis affects 1 in 140 Canadians. It’s an uncomfortable conservation to have for most people, but it’s more normal than you may think. Canada has one of the highest rates for Crohn’s and Colitis. Eagleson says there is no rhyme or reason as to why, but some scientists believe it could be due to the environment, genetics or microbiome. There are studies happening world wide to figure out if it could be one of the 3 factors. Tickets for Let’s do Brunch can be purchased at the door. $15 for adults, youth 12-7 are $7.50 and youth 6 and under are free.
