A first-aid kit, along with hand sanitizer or moist towelettes. Candles and Matches are useful as well.
Keep any important documents in a folder that is easily accessible, along with extra car keys and cash. A garbage bag and ziplock bags are more useful then you think.
Special considerations include items for babies and pets.
Clothing, along with sleeping bags and blankets and pillows are a necessity.
You should pack your 72-hour emergency kit in a bag with wheels so it’s easier to travel with and store it in a place that is easily accessible. You should check and refresh your kit twice a year, like when the clocks change.
