Quite a bit of excitement in Southwest Middlesex this morning.
Around 3:30am, Middlesex OPP along with the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP K9, the OPP Forensic Identification Services, and the Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police Service were called to a business in Wardsville for a break and enter.
Suspects fled when police arrived but the vehicle was stopped sometime later on Longwoods Road with the help of a Spike Belt. The two people in the vehicle ran off on foot.
One person was caught and has been charged.
Police are still looking for the second suspect.
A loaded shotgun was found in the vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen from Chatham. Nothing was stolen from the business in Wardsville but damage was done to the front of the business.
Aaron Schuyler, a 37-year-old from London has been charged with possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, knowledge of an unauthorized possession of weapon, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, obstruct peace officer, possession of property by crime over $5000 and break and enter a place with intent to commit indictable offence.
The accused was held for bail, the second person involved is still missing.
This investigation is continuing.
