Expecting mothers now have the option to have some assistance in delivering, and that help will come at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. Julie McBrien, Interim President and CEO of the Middlesex Hospital Alliance says she’s excited to bring more health care to SMGH through their new Midwives Program.
McBrien says there was a survey that was put out a while ago that asked if given the chance, would expecting parents rather give birth in Strathroy and the response was overwhelming. By having the service here in Strathroy, it keeps residents closer to home and saves a long drive to London or other Hospitals.
If you have any questions, it’s best to reach out to the Middlesex and Area Midwives for any questions and options. You can visit their website here: www.momamidwives.ca or call at 226-721-0777 or email admin@momamidwives.ca. The new Midwives program will start the end of this month or early February.
