Adeliade Metcalfe Township’s 2023 Budget will see a 2.54% tax increase as Council recently passed the $8 Million budget. The increase was brought down by about 10% as staff found ways to save money. Staff put more dollars into reserves to help try and prevent future loans and tax increases. The average home valued at $290,000 will be giving $51 more to the town, and with that, any farms assessed at $800,000 will be giving only $36 more. Reserves in the bank will go from about $7.82 Million to about $8.49 Million by the end of 2023.
For the Mullifarry Road rebuild, the big $3 Million budget was split over the course of a few years. $250,000 will be spent this year. The remaining funds will be spent over the next two years.
5.5KM of Langan Drive will be resurfaced from Townsend Line to Sexton Road at a price tag of $140,000. 7.3KM of Walkers Drive (From Melbourne Road to Thames Road) will also be resurfaced at a cost of $182,500.
$36,000 that wasn’t spent in 2022 will be spent this year on the sidewalk extension on Kerwood Road, to the entrance of the park.
$200,000 has been set aside for the culvert replacement on Scotchmere Drive.
This year $420,000 will go to a new grader to replace the 20 year old one.
Phase two of the Kerwood Park improvements was budgeted at $144,000 last year, and will be used this year. The park barn will also be fixed at a price tag of $35,000.
New gear at the Fire Department will go with a cost of $37,500.
$70,000 was budgeted for Centre Road water and sewer servicing dispute legal fees.
88% of capital cost is made in transportation.
