The Middlesex Hospital Alliance Board of Directors have announced that Julie McBrien has been appointed the position of President and CEO of the Alliance.
McBrien took on the role of Interim President and CEO in June of 2022.
McBrien tells myFM she was honoured the Board thought she was a good fit.
She says her goals for the Hospital Alliance hasn’t changed much since she was in the Interim position. She has a focus on safe and positive patient experience, the rollout of the new strategic plan, and working with the Hospital Foundation and Community Partners on fundraising for the new MRI machine that was announced.
McBrien is looking to improve patient care and experience more in her new role.
She says the Alliance needs to be educated more in patient care, especially for the LQBTQ2S+ community and Indigenous communities.
She also tells us it was an easy decision for her to apply for the role.
McBrien joined the MHA in 2021 as Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer. She then went on to the role of Interim President and CEO in June 2022. She has a strong nursing background, holding a Master of Health Sciences (MHSc) degree from the University of Toronto and being a Registered Nurse.
The Middlesex Hospital Alliance consists of the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital and Four Counties Heath Services in Newbury.
