The Queen Street Reconstruction project is moving forward and last week Strathroy-Caradoc Council approved a Tender Award to Omega Contractors Inc. for $4,429,295.62 (excl. HST) and Council also awarded BM Ross and Associates Limited as the Contract Administration for the amount of $415,000 (excl. HST). The project is set for between Carroll Street East and the CN tracks including Rosewood Court, and includes the upgrade of local roadways from semiurban to full urban with full municipal services and utility upgrades, also providing the Fieldcrest Subdivision Storm Outlet, and projected to begin May 1st with a target completion date of October 30th this year. Engineering and Public Works department has budgeted $7,700,000 in the proposed 2023 Capital Budget with $4,000,000 carried forward from the 2022 Capital Budget.
The project was posted publicly on the Bids & Tenders website February 22, 2023, and closed March 15th, 2023 with 5 bids received.
