For over two decades, the municipality of Lambton Shores has operated out of 3 separate satellite offices, being in Forest, Thedford and Grand Bend and at the end of April, they will be centralizing into a new facility. In their new office in Northville, just West of Thedford, the municipality will have a permanent council chamber for the first time. Existing staff will be retained and relocated to the new building. Mayor Doug Cook says the benefit to the public is obvious.
The new office is located in Northville, near the current works offices – right off of Northville road. Through several grants, the new building is also a green energy building, and Cook hopes that the investment will pay for itself.
The Grand Bend office, primarily used for taxes and water, will be closed as of May 4th. The Forest Office will also be closed. For more information, you can check out the website for the Municipality of Lambton Shores
