Imminent plans to establish an all-new medical and surgical center close to the Strathroy-Caradoc and Township of Adelaide Metcalfe border are unknown due to ongoing legal issues between the municipalities concerning water and sewer service provisions.
105.7 myFM spoke with Strathroy-Caradoc Mayor Colin Grantham, who was very vocal about the current situation between the two municipalities.
Mayor Grantham made it clear that the Strathroy-Caradoc Council was in favour of the Medical Centre.
The legal process between the Townships has been going on for quite some time, with no solution in clear sight.
He also thinks that the legal process is a waste of money, that neither township can afford.
Mayor Grantham says there were two things that he was given power over during the situation.
According to the lasted court ruling, the scales have been tipped in the favour of Strathroy-Caradoc Council.
Adelaide Metcalfe decided to appeal the decision.
Morgan Calvert, Adelaide Metcalfe CAO, has released a public statement that states Strathroy-Caradoc has refused to engage in any discussions, to which Mayor Grantham has now responded.
Mayor Grantham has one question for the Adelaide Metcalfe Council.
When asked if the Medical Centre will happen one way, or another, Mayor Grantham said:

“We remain ready, willing and able to resolve this matter with Strathroy Caradoc at any time and any place in an open and transparent manner. All we care about is the public importance of this issue for the economic benefit of our community, Strathroy Caradoc’s community and the district at large.”
