The Peterborough Lakers faced a tough 13-5 loss to the Six Nations Chiefs last night, placing them in a difficult 3-0 series deficit.
Peterborough held a 5-3 lead at one point, in the second period, but then gave up ten unanswered goals down the stretch.
Leading the offensive in the loss was Thomas Hoggarth, who picked up a hat trick. Adding to the scoreboard were the Cattoni brothers, Taite and Holden, each contributing with a single goal apiece.
The last time the Lakers were down 3-0 in a playoff series was in 2000, when they were swept 4-0 by the Brampton Excelsiors. Interestingly, the Lakers Head Coach, Mike Hasen, was a player on that Brampton team.
With their backs against the wall, the Lakers now face a must-win situation in Game 4 tomorrow. Opening faceoff is 8pm at the PMC.
