OPP have successfully resolved the glitch that led to the disruption of an AMBER Alert release the evening of August 23rd.
The OPP’s system is now operating at full capacity.
During the AMBER Alert issuance attempt, the OPP encountered a technical obstacle.
It has been determined that the issue arose from an automated third-party software update.
The AMBER Alert system is now fully operational once more.
To prevent future occurrences, the OPP has initiated several measures:
Technical teams within the OPP are devising a backup plan to bypass automated updates that fall beyond the OPP’s jurisdiction.
A manual process is being established to facilitate access to the National Alert Aggregation and Dissemination (NAAD) system, also known as Alert Ready, without reliance on third-party software.
Regular system testing will persist to ensure consistent functionality.
The AMBER Alert was originally issued due to a three month old was reported missing in Roseneath, Alnwick-Haldimand Township.
