It is Seeds of Success Day; a look at leaders in the local agricultural sector…brought to you by Mainstreet Credit Union, Sanitary Sewer Cleaning Company.
We chatted with Kendra Bloomfield of Bloomers Family Farms in Ilderton, who gave us some history on the farm.
Bloomers Family Farms operates farm to plate, meaning you will always get the freshest product possible.
In addition to the farm being farm to plate fresh, they operate as a family run business, with the whole family being involved. Normally, farmers get into cash crop, or livestock, but Bloomers does both. Bloomfield says it allows the two sides to benefit off of each other.
Bloomfield says there is a lot that goings on in a day when it comes to working on a farm, but there are many hands in the family to help out. She says that while the family mostly handles the farm, she is in charge of the other important aspect of the business.
Effort and teamwork are two important things Bloomfield credits as part of their success.
