In a Nova Scotia story with ties to Strathroy, a judge has once again granted bail to Edward Duane Garinger, facing human trafficking charges. Arrested on October 10th for breaching release conditions, Garinger had a recent bail hearing in Halifax. The 50-year-old, known by aliases Edward Morrison and Ted Morrison, with Strathroy ties from a previous food truck business, secured a new $2,000 bail with house arrest.
Garinger, picked up in Ontario in June and brought to Nova Scotia, faces charges including human trafficking, benefiting from it, procuring sexual services, and more. He must report weekly to Halifax police, with restrictions on contact and proximity. Charges were filed in June after a March report of human trafficking in Halifax. The alleged victim’s identity is protected. The pimping-related offenses were allegedly committed in Halifax between Jan. 20 and March 31 of this year. The identity of the alleged victim is protected by a publication ban. Victims of Mr. Garringer are encouraged to contact the Halifax police Department of Crime Stoppers.
