Easton Cowan who lives in Mount Brydges now but used to live and play all his minor hockey in Strathroy has been very busy these past few weeks representing our local area as part of team Canada at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championships in Sweden. Canada unfortunately lost in quarterfinal action after a late goal by Czechia to win 3-2. Cowan says he learned plenty during his time overseas and even though the result was not the desired one, the experience was still amazing.
Cowan says that experience learned can definetely be taken back to his Memorial Cup run with the London Knights.
Cowan says the support from the community while playing overseas was truly appreciated.
Cowan says there was no feeling quite like putting on Team Canada’s jersey and representing our country.
