If you felt a few years ago when Strathroy’s downtown went through a facelift including the installation of planters on Caradoc Street, and you either were upset about it, didn’t know it was coming, didn’t know the cost of it, or simply didn’t pay attention during the process, you better pay attention now because it’s coming down the pipe again.
Strathroy-Caradoc Council has received a report detailing concept plans for downtown revitalization in Mt. Brydges and Strathroy. The report includes concept plans and estimated costs for streetscape improvements, with a focus on enhancing Adelaide Road in Mt. Brydges and upgrading boulevards and infrastructure along Front and Frank Streets in downtown Strathroy. Construction costs are estimated at $11,832,215 for Strathroy and $2,521,095 for Mt. Brydges. Next steps include public information meetings, consultations, and discussions with business owners, with construction slated to begin in 2025 pending Council approval.
