WM Canada this week announced the commencement of construction on a new renewable natural gas (RNG) infrastructure project in Watford. The company celebrated this milestone with an official ground-breaking ceremony at the Twin Creeks Environmental Centre, attended by Warwick Township Mayor Todd Case, other elected officials, and WM representatives.
Once operational, the Twin Creeks RNG facility is projected to generate approximately 2 million MMBtu of RNG annually. This output could potentially provide enough energy to heat approximately 35,000 homes in Ontario, based on estimates provided. This achievement underscores WM’s ongoing dedication to spearheading positive environmental initiatives and its commitment to fostering sustainable development in Canada.
“It is great to see the landfill gas captured from Twin Creeks utilized to produce renewable energy. This project will benefit the local environment by avoiding CO2 emissions,” adds Todd Case, Mayor of Warwick Township.
