It’s official, soon we will see who will take the seat left vacant by former Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton after he resigned late in 2023. A writ was issued Wednesday under Section 9.1 of the Election Act for by-elections in the electoral districts of Milton and Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. Under the Election Act, elections must be called on a Wednesday and held the fifth Thursday after the date of the issue of the writ, meaning voting day will be May 2nd, 2024.
The official candidates for our riding are:
Cathy Burquardt-Jesson for the Liberals
Steve Pinsonneault for the Conservative party
Kathryn Shailer for the NDP
Andraena Tilgner for the Green party
Keith Benn for the New Blue party
Stephen Campbell for the None of the Above party.
