There’s no mistaking the rivalry on the ice over the years between Strathroy and Mount Brydges Minor Hockey organizations but this Saturday they come together for one common goal. It’s the inaugural Battle of 81 in support of the Thuss Family. Mount Brydges hockey mom Erin Bryans explains.
Strathroy hockey mom Katie Phillips talks about what is all happening at the event this Saturday.
Bryans says parents in the hockey community felt something needed to be done to help.
Phillips says there will be some activities Saturday as well..
The event goes Saturday at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre from 2-8pm featuring Strathroy Rockets versus Mount Brydges Cougars minor hockey and games ranging from U11 to U16 age groups. Ben was admitted to hospital in London and had some complications in the Fall of 2023. Leading into December and January, Ben showed enough improvement to move him to Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Toronto.
