The Ontario government is giving $5 million to help communities in the province get ready for emergencies. They’re using the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant to buy supplies, equipment, and provide training.
The grant supports 113 recipients across Ontario, including municipalities, First Nation communities, and non-governmental organizations focused on emergency preparedness.
As part of the grant, the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe will be receiving $15,600 to buy a thermal imaging drone for safer search and rescue missions during severe weather.
