His triumph, with a commanding lead of 9,441 votes, reaffirms the region’s allegiance to the PC party.
Pinsonneault’s resounding win, capturing over 56% of the popular vote amidst a turnout of 30.25%, solidifies the constituency’s PC blue tradition. This victory follows the resignation of former cabinet minister Monte McNaughton, necessitating the byelection, and underscores the enduring support for the PC representation in the region since McNaughton’s initial election in 2011.
In comparison with the by-election’s 30.25% voter turnout, the 2022 Ontario general election saw a 47.24% voter turnout in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, with incumbent MPP at the time Monte McNaughton earning 58.81% percent of the vote.
