Our new MPP-elect will be officially sworn in today at Queen’s Park. Steve Pinsonneault won the byelection in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex May 2nd and will replace former MPP Monte McNaughton, who left politics for the private sector in September. In a one-on-one interview with myFM, Pinsonneault said it was a hard-fought election victory.
Pinsonneault said he’s been getting a nice welcome across the huge riding.
Today is swearing in day for Pinsonneault at Queen’s Park. He tells myFM what some of his top priorities will be over the next two years.
Pinsonneault says his communication with his consituents will be very important to him, and he plans on holding regular town hall meetings. myFM asked him about why he missed two candidates debates in our region, in Strathroy and Watford, during the election campaign. It had been indicated his door-to-door campaigning may have been deemed “more important.”
Pinsonneault says he’s had a warm reception since the win.
