The Peterborough Jr. A Lakers secured a decisive 12-6 victory last night over the previously undefeated Mimico Mountaineers.
Peterborough’s offense was led by Nick Roode, who had four goals and an assist, and Sam Trumble, with two goals and three assists. Matthew Drimmie played the role of setup man for most of the night, chipping in with four assists.
Single goals went to Lucas Osborne, Nick Crowley, Colby Wood, Nick Dilauro and Daniel Clark.
Goaltender Cole Gervais picked up the win, making 46 saves for the Lakers, while shutting the door completely in the second period.
After a three-game road trip that saw the Lakers pick up two wins, the team returns home tonight for an 8pm game against Kitchener-Waterloo. With the Memorial Centre unavailable today, the game will be played at Healthy Planet Arena.
