Residents of Mount Brydges showed up in full force to council Tuesday night to have their voices heard when it comes to a proposed McDonalds development making its way to the village.
Seats were full, many were standing around the council chambers and more attended the session virtually, but the consensus was clear; Mount Brydges does not want a McDonalds.
Many other residents took the floor when given the chance by council to voice their opinions and state why having a McDonalds in Mount Brydges would not be a good idea.
Kate McCrowley, Senior Planner for Zelinka Priamo LTD Land Use Planning Consultants was given the chance to ease residents concerns about location and odor.
In the end, it seems the residents might be getting what they want as council decided to deny the application of having a McDonalds located at Adelaide road and Parkhouse Drive, saying council cannot support the motion. This story could have another chapter legally if the developer decides to pursue this further. myFM will continue to follow the story as it develops.
