A big move regarding area 9-1-1 calls. This week Middlesex County announced a big change in that particular administration of its 911 Primary Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Starting Tuesday, Strathroy-Caradoc Police will take over as the Primary PSAP and Central Emergency Reporting Bureau (CERB) for all municipalities within Middlesex County. We talked to Deputy Chief of Police with Strathroy-Caradoc Brent Cushman who was at the lead of this transition.
Cushman says despite this change, the 911 process for local area residents remains the same.
He adds earlier this year London Police advised the County that they were looking to move away from being the primary 9-1-1 PSAP. Middlesex approached Strathroy-Caradoc to enter discussions after that.
