Great news for Strathroy’s Hospital as news broke this week that Building Foundations has received approvals from the Home Construction Regulatory Authority and the Tarion Home Warranty Program to sell six new homes in Strathroy. These homes are being developed in partnership with the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, which donated the land, alongside Builder J F Homes Ltd and students from Holy Cross Catholic High School gaining hands-on construction experience.
With the licensing ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and Tarion’s warranty providing crucial protection for homeowners, the first two homes will soon be available for sale, with proceeds supporting new hospital equipment. This initiative not only enhances the housing market but also strengthens community ties and youth opportunities.
“We are thrilled to have received the necessary approvals from both HCRA and Tarion. The proceeds from the sale of these homes provides funding for the purchase of much needed hospital equipment while also providing HCCHS students thinking of entering the Trades profession an opportunity to gain real world experience, learning, skills, and the confidence they need to succeed in the industry.”
Ed Wheatley COO, SMGH Foundation.
“The achievement of obtaining this approval from HCRA/Tarion is a significant milestone for the Board and Staff of Building Foundations and enables us to continue to pursue this business model for the long term benefit of the SMGH Foundation and our local Hospital.”
Fraser Macdonald, Board Chair, Building Foundations
